Schraubenimplantate 1975 wurden vom Vortragenden erstmals CBS®-Schraubenimplantate (nach Sandhaus) unmittelbar nach deren Insertion im Unterkiefer mittels eines Steges belastet. Wegen der Sprödigkeit des Werkstoffes Aluminiumoxydkeramik kam es nicht selten zu Frakturen der CBS-Implantate. Dieser Umstand gab den Anlass ein neues Implantat aus einem frakturresistenteren Material zu entwickeln.
